A Trip To Sabah - Land Below The Wind

We reached Kota Kinabalu Airport from KLIA at 2pm. Upon praying, HelzyCar Centre 's agent arrived. After all the documents were sorted out, we drove to nearby restaurant and had our lunch. With the help of Waze, we reached Rumah Terbalik at 5.30pm. The tourist attraction is upgraded from the last time I went there. Now, they offer a 3D museum for us to snap pictures as much as we want besides the Rumah Terbalik itself.

Rumah Terbalik : Sweet bro saved me from the cliff.
Thanks to him I'm still alive today. LOL

Rumah Terbalik
Worries not, we are guided by instructions and sample pictures from the previous visitors at each gallery. Hence, it is easier for us to take pictures at perfect angle in order to make it looks real! We spent like 2 hours and half there and it was an exciting experience I must say. Honestly, the ticket worth the price cause we went to Upside Down House in Malacca and it is an utter disappointment. The ticket is too expensive and there is not much things to see or to take pictures. If I could turn back the time, I would not bring my family there and spend the money on food instead. Seriously.

We continued our journey straight to Kundasang to check in at our very first accomodation, Azrien Homestay. It took four hours to reach there and the route is not really in a good condition with limited street lights, my sister drove extra careful and three of us did not sleep a wink during the journey. I knew we reached Kundasang when I could feel the cold, chilly air once the I opened the window a bit. It was quite difficult to locate the homestay because it was so dark and there were too many homestays at the same location. 😎

Nonetheless, we managed to reach Azrien Homestay safe and sound half and hour later. Haha. yeah, it took awhile. We have to pass a very steep route before arriving there as the homestay is located on top of the hill. The owner, Madam Salwana greeted us upon our arrival. The house is very clean and tidy and it is a brand new house. It is decorated with contemporary decoration and I can say it is a very perfect and convenience place to stay for families. As there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms provided, it is suitable for more than one family to stay. Hence, you can save some money. Herherher. In fact, there is a sweet, small kitchen with basic necessities to cook. We hit the hay early that night get ready what's store for us for tomorrow.

Azrien Homestay = RM300 / night

Our scenery at Azrien Homestay
We were surprised by the next morning once we saw the Mount of Kinabalu is exactly behind our homestay. The view is so majestic and spectacular. It looks so magnificent with the top of the mount was covered by fogs. I was left stunned for a moment and took some  me-time at the verandah, watching the scenery alone. Hehehe.

Our first destination for the next morning is, definitely Desa Dairy Farm at Kampung Mesilau. The scenery and even the weather makes it look like New Zealand exactly. After all, people call it Malaysian's New Zealand. 😝 It is a perfect place for you to take pictures with your loved ones. Cows could be seen from the vast farm with the Mountain of Kinabalu stands proud behind. The fresh air and fresh dew made us wanna stay there longer. So, we had yogurt ice cream to buy the time. Haha. We had vanilla and chocolate flavours. They also had cheese, cartons of milk and souvenirs. My mother bought some cheese and later we had cheese and crackers for our supper. 😉

Desa Dairy Farm ticket : RM5

Then, we went to Kundasang War Memorial which is located at the heart of Kundasang. If you love history and want to know more about Kota Kinabalu then this is the right place to visit. There's nothing much to see you unless some dilapidated buildings during the colonial war.

The place is brought alive by a person whom I forgot. He took years to clean this place which was flooded with garbage and liquor bottles, and now it is one of the tourist attraction in Kundasang. Have a look of these pictures in Kundasang War Memorial!

Kundasang War Memorial Park : RM2

After that, we went to Strawberry Garden. We were excited at first but to our disappointment, there's actually nothing to be excited about when we reached there. The shop was opened, but the staff said there were no strawberries and I do not know if it makes sense but then we went home and spent our time there.

The next day we were off to Kota Kinabalu and stay tuned for the next post!
