[ KOREA TRAVELOG ] - Tips

Hey, let's skip the introduction part. Can we?

We were not having a budget trip, considering the money that we splurged there Haha! but maybe you would like to know some information before heading to South Korea!

Welcome to our next post!

1. You don't need a  tourist guide

Tourist guides! Don't kill me yet until I finish writing this post! Haha. If you are independent and willing to go for more adventurous trip, you can save a lot of moneyh! The signage and the labelling are all in Hangul and in Rumi. Hence, there's no problem for you to understand which and what way to go.

See,the signage is readable. Haha
We all are aware that Korea and Japan have a very complex subway route, but fret not! You can download apps for it. Just type where are you going and the apps would show you how to get there by public transports. In fact, it shows you which station or subway to take in details. Hence, you can reach your destination safe and sound! You can download Subway apps and Naver Map

Subway apps helps you to travel from which station to which station and Naver Map helps you how to get to your destination from the station. For instance, from Myeongdong station, you will need Naver Map to walk to Casa Myeongdong Guesthouse. Get me bro?

If you opt for leisure trip to laze around without being busy googling, you are always welcome to 'hire' a tourist guide. Haha. You can contact Rose for more information and also Didi. They had been wonderful to us during our one week trip. Just ask them anything, and like a genie poof! They will grant your wishes! haha. They are trusted agents and you can trust them whole heartedly. Because, when we were in Seoul we noticed some Malaysian tourists got stranded because their agents were nowhere to be found after receiving their payment. Yes, they are evil. 😠 and don't fall to their sweet talks!

2. Book guesthouse beforehand

It is advisable for you to hunt for a cheap guesthouse at Booking.com and etc before your adventurous trip. I stayed at Bong guesthouse in Hyehwa which is very convenient to us. You can find accommodation at Myeongdong as well as it is closer to the night market. Just so you know, the price of guesthouse during winter season is more expensive due to the usage of heater.

3. T Money

Tmoney in Korea is like Touch n Go in Malaysia. Find one for yourself at any convenience store. You can use it for public transport and also at the convenience store itself!

Subway is life!

4. Food

We went to various place of Halal Food and I have to admit I really love Korean food! (Not malaysia version of Korean food tho). Hence, these are some of the places that we went.

BusanJib in Myeongdong - Honestly, the price is very expensive compared to other place I think. And I don't really like the food here. We had steamed eggs, rice with side dishes, ramen, octopus and egg pancake.

Hasan Lee in Jongno gu - The restaurant is quite small but very comfortable. Hasan is the owner of the restaurant and his father is the Imam Besar at Seoul National Mosque and he is among the earliest people who converted to Islam in Seoul. Highly recommended!

Mom's fav. Omija Tea. I love it so much!

Didi, our stylish tour guide.

Mom's favourite fried chicken is in Halal Kitchen. She still
can't get over it until now.

My mom is quite fussy in choosing her food, but guess what, she could not stop thinking of Hasan Lee's spicy fried chicken with rice cakes. It is very tasty and scrumptious, we also had Omija tea. SERIOUSLY, YOU SHOULD TRY IT! Very refreshing to quench our thirst!

Asia Cuisine in Nami Island - We had jajangmyeon, chicken teriyaki and bulgogi. Jajangmyeon is highly recommended! Highly recommended!

Most of the tourists that I have met agreed Jajangmyeon in Asian Cuisine is the best!

The prayer room is located beside the library and your children can roam around
while you praying.

Makan Restaurant in Itaewon - We were served by Malaysian student who worked there. To reach here, we had to cllimb the hilly route quite for sometime so get ready with suitable footwears! I like the food and the side dishes is delicious. We had bulgogi and squid also. Highly recommended!

Makan Restaurant

I like this one, bulgogi if Im not mistaken.

The Halal Guys in Itaewon - We had combo platter and something else that I did not remember. But honestly, talking about this makes me craving for it. Highly recommended!

Superb!

Kampungku Seoul in Myeongdong - This restaurant offers Malaysian food and Korean food. And I find it just so - so. Lol

Kampungku Seoul.

Asian and rice, now and forever.

5. Do not have to pay for internet.

Guess what, you can access to the internet connection at almost all of the places. And every tourist attraction offers free wifi. You can save more money! Yeay!

6. Always compare prices.

Always compare prices whenever you shop for clothes, souvenirs, brooches cause different sellers sell at different prices. For example, we bought a supreme T- shirt for 13000krw and we found other places which sell at 15000krw and 10000krw! Be diligent to roam around before buying, thus you can shop till you drop! haha

Nice ahjussi, he gave us discounts and yakults whenever we walked in to his shop.
And we went there thrice!

That's all, and you can add anything that I might miss and if you have any questions, just comment and I'll reply in a no time! Thanks for reading!
